Surrounding communities that cannot
individually provide for social service needs continually look toward
WORC Industries to deliver services to people with special needs.
Closing of state run institutions, the
provision of special programs by public schools and the development of
community-based residences have generated additional funding for WORC
Industries.
Winona ORC Industries, Inc. earns over
51% of its budget from business operations. As a result of the events of
September 11, 2002, the current economy and the prospects of reduced
government funding for people with special needs, the traditional funding
levels will not be enough to meet the growing and changing employment and
training needs of its population and service areas.
